Estimation du stock d’huîtres sauvages et en élevage dans le Bassin d’Arcachon ArchiMer
Scourzic, Thomas; Loyen, M.; Fabre, E.; Tessier, Anne; Dalias, N.; Trut, Gilles; Maurer, Daniele; Simmonnet, Bastien.
Within the framework of the mission of creation of a “Parc Naturel Marin" in the Bay of Arcachon, estimations of the oysters stocks in the Bay were realized in 2011 by the engineering consulting firm Océanide, in association with the “Agence des Aires Marines Protégées”, the French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea ( IFREMER) - Station of Arcachon and the Departmental Direction of Territories and the Sea of Gironde – “Délégation à la Mer et au Littoral (DLM)”. The evaluation of the stock of cultivated oysters was made from production statements of the shellfish farmers, collected in 2010 by the DML. The estimation of the stocks of wild oysters was made using a stratified two degrees field sampling. Finally, 82 500 t of oysters are present...

Functional differences between fish communities on artificial and natural reefs: a case study along the French Catalan coast ArchiMer
Koeck, Barbara; Tessier, Anne; Brind'Amour, Anik; Pastor, Jeremy; Bijaoui, Benjamin; Dalias, Nicolas; Astruch, Patrick; Saragoni, Gilles; Lenfant, Philippe.
In the context of growing anthropogenic disturbances that deeply alter marine coastal ecosystems, various management tools are used to protect biodiversity, such as fishing gear limitations, fishing quotas, protected areas or the creation of artificial reefs (ARs). In contrast to the other management tools, ARs require a modification of natural habitats. We used underwater visual censuses to investigate the effect of habitat modification on the structure of fish communities by comparing a natural reef (NR) to ARs with different habitat complexity. Different fish assemblage descriptors were used to assess species- and functional- and community-level aspects of the assemblages. ARs were rapidly colonized by adult fishes and presented community compositions...

Histoire des traits de vie du Tilapia du Nil (Oreochromis niloticus – Cichlidae), espèce exploitée d’un réservoir subtropical (Laos). ArchiMer
Tessier, Anne; Blin, Charlotte; Cottet, Maud; Kue, Kaoboun; Panfili, Jacques; Chanudet, Vincent; Descloux, Stephane; Guillard, Jean.
Biological traits of Oreochromis niloticus were studied in order to identify potential differences between the population of the Nam Theun 2 Reservoir and other populations in Asia and in Africa. The study also aimed to characterize the demographic structure of the exploited population by fisheries in the reservoir. Toluidine-stained transverse section of otoliths from 322 specimens, collected between November 2015 and January 2017, were analysed to identify the periodicity of annulus formation and to age individuals. Length, weight, sex and sexual maturity stage were recorded. Life history traits were characterized by length-weight and length age relationships. The periodicity of annulus formation was annual, with complete formation of the translucent...
